![]() A creative set up for an event is the most breathtaking and rewarding feeling ever, but let’s face it, catering is hard work! Catering Supervisor, Maria Moliner at Metz, St. Thomas University, does her job so well that it looks like a breeze. Most clients see catering as just serving food and decoration, but little do they know that this busy bee is buzzing to make her clients at STU happy. St Thomas University is a melting pot St Thomas university has student representatives from several states across the nations from more than 70 different countries! Maria takes the time to learn the different ethnicities and wide background range of clients before carefully planning what foods will be served at an event, in order to satisfy all clients unique taste. Without a doubt! She ensures top standard; organic foods are delivered from our local vendors to your plate. Just the right amount There has been a rapid increase in student capacity at St Thomas University this Fall 2019 due to the addition of a football team along with a marching band. This is an additional 200 plus clients that Maria must now consider when catering for events at STU. It can be a challenge when ordering food and utensils, Maria must ensure that there is not too little food or too much food that will be wasted away along with money. Thanks to Maria’s careful planning, clients can enjoy fun events for hours without running short on a variety of delicious foods. Just the right fit St Thomas University is a small community, literally. An increase in student capacity in the same environment poses another catering challenge of selecting the event venue. You would be so surprised to know how crucial space is when catering for an event. In addition to accommodation space for attendees, Maria must plan a set up where they are enough space for food and beverages, each must be in considerable distance from each other. It might be important to be in a space with access to a kitchen where food can be stored and organized before serving as well. Retract to the day of President David Armstrong’s Inauguration Ball. Perfection!! Stays true to Metz! Short staffed, no problem. Maria continues to single-handedly and successfully represent Metz Culinary Management on every level at every event by upholding the very missions and values that makes us so distinct. Her hospitable personality naturally enables her to deliver fun and quality service while keeping balance. Maria has strongly displayed integrity and fairness working with a school as diverse as St. Thomas University. Her contribution to STU is truly valued and appreciated. Help me to give a big THANK YOU! to our catering supervisor, Maria Moliner.
